Why the quote from Luke 5:4 ?

It is a wonderful encouragement to stay obedient to God, in His appointed time. Here is how Dick Leggatt from Derek Prince Ministries put it:

"As you may recall, this is the passage in which Jesus encounters Peter, Andrew, James and John by the Lake of Gennesaret, tending their nets after fruitless, frustrating night of fishing. After using Peter's boat as a a floating pulpit for a while, Jesus said to Peter: "Put out into the deep water, and let down your nets for a catch."
Peter's initial response was to inform the Lord that they had just spent all night fishing in that very lake. In the back of his mind, he was also aware that they had also already washed their nets and put them away for the day. But much to Peter's credit, he said,"...but I will do as you say and let down the nets." Other translations say, "at your bidding" or " upon your word."
The meaning of this to me is that although we may have been laboring for a long time, sometimes even with less in the way of results than we would have desired, we are approaching a time when the Lord will say, "This is the appointed time".
And if we are sensitive and obedient to His command, and also if we are willing to "push further out into the deep water" (moving beyond comfort our zones, into unfamiliar waters where we are in way over our heads), I believe we will see the kind of abundant response they saw in their moment of obedience to God's appointed time."

Over the last five years the verse from Luke 5:4 has proven true in my life as I am completing a Bachelor of Church Ministry at Pacific Life Bible College. I launched into deep waters. It was deep and unfamiliar waters since the new direction had more to do with preparation for ministry rather than with music.
Previously I completed two years of music education and choral conducting in a university program. I have many years of experience in performing, recording and teaching. My fourteen year long  training includes piano, bassoon, harmony, counterpoint, conducting, composition and ear training as well as more specialized subjects like Vocal Scores Sight Reading (sight reading of four part harmony written on four staves with mezzosoprano, tenor or baritone clefs in addition to the usual soprano and bass). I play classical and popular (contemporary) music, working with adults and youth.
